THE STORY BEHIND Ddhäl Ch'èl Cha Nän
Ddhäl Ch'èl Cha Nän means "ragged mountain land" in Hän or Hwëch'in, the first nation peoples of this territory of the Yukon. These lands have a primal feeling to them. From boreal forests to arctic tundra extending in all directions, permafrost landforms and rugged peaks. I captured this image from across the valley while hiking the goldensides trail at 10pm. The late light hours added to the surreal and energetic feeling of these beautiful lands.
