THE STORY BEHIND LIGHT OFFERINGS
The Tamang monastery at the north side of the Stupa has top floor where you can put in an order for hundreds or even thousands of butter lamps. They make them, you offer them. On this top floor there's an area framed in aluminum siding to protect lamps from wind. Inside of this shed there is a huge lamp. No idea how long it burns or if it ever goes out. In the foreground of this frame you can see the ring of it. I love offering lamps symbolic in their aspect of wisdom that is all encompassing. Another visual of elements transforming.
