THE STORY BEHIND SANG OFFERING
The Boudha Stupa has a variety of different sang offering vessels - from rustic barrels to beautifully detailed copper vessels. There is always someone selling sang (juniper) for pilgrims to offer. People walk by, passing their mala and body through the smoke as a cleansing. I’ve always been drawn to the ephemeral quality of smoke and steam. It is an element transforming into another form. A captivating visual, form in flux with the intent as an offering.
